How We Work

Our core software product, Noodoe EV OS, is engineered to put as much of a charger’s core functionality on the cloud as possible, letting the cloud serve as the “brain” of the charger and orchestrating it centrally. Doing this provides several benefits:

How We Keep You Safe

Data Collection

Personal information is required for operating and monitoring EVSEs (EV charging stations) commissioned to the Noodoe cloud. For these purposes, Noodoe collects the following information: the account owner’s name, E-mail, and physical address. Additionally, we may request credit card information to charge for charging services when applicable. Noodoe NEVER stores credit card information. Instead, the credit card information is securely transferred to a third-party, PCI-compliant payment platform built by Partners such as Stripe, Till, Payter, Heartland, and Worldpay.

Noodoe EV OS hosts its services on AWS, with architecture designed to protect Noodoe EV OS information, identities, applications, and devices. With AWS, Noodoe EV OS can confidently meet core security and compliance requirements, such as data locality, protection, and confidentiality, with a comprehensive suite of services and features. The following is a partial list of assurance programs with which AWS complies:

  • SOC 1/ISAE 3402, SOC 2, SOC 3
  • FISMA, DIACAP, and FedRAMP
  • PCI DSS Level 1
  • ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018

Cyber Security Management

Noodoe works with certified third parties to store and process data. These third parties possess all certifications required to keep the data secured (PCI-DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, FedRAMP, GDPR, FIPS 140-2, and NIST 800-171).

PCI Compliance

PCI DSS – The Payment Card Industry (PCI) – is the organization that sets the global security standard for companies that handle highly sensitive payment information. Their standard is called DSS (Data Security Standard) and is applicable to any organization that accepts or processes payment cards.

Noodoe uses PCI-compliant payment gateways such as Stripe and Till Payment. These gateways are audited by PCI Qualified Security Assessor periodically to meet industry requirements. PCI compliance is a shared responsibility and applies to both the payment gateway and Noodoe. To make sure your data is safe, Noodoe ensures the following:

  1. Noodoe EV OS follows the gateway’s recommended payment integration to collect payment information, which is securely transmitted directly to the gateway without it passing through Noodoe EV OS servers.
  2. Noodoe EV OS uses secure transportation protocols, such as Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2) and HTTPS.
  3. Noodoe EV OS is reviewed and validated annually for PCI compliance by a PCI-compliant payment gateway. (PCI certification)

Database Management

Noodoe EV OS creates a copy of data to protect against accidental or malicious deletion, corruption, hardware failure, ransomware attacks, and any other type of data loss. Our data backups are performed in AWS S3 periodically. All of our data is stored and maintained within the United States and does not cross its borders. Our data center is located in Oregon, with a data backup location in Northern California (secondary location). Data recovery is performed in the event of a data loss. The Noodoe EV OS recovery mechanism secures data systems, allowing the data to be recovered when needed. Look here for more information pertaining to our website privacy policies.
